Could you use strapping tape? you know, the DIY plaster type stuff without the blood pad

I've been playing guitar since the mid 70s. I do a lot of finger picking on 6 & 12 strings. On occasion I have been miffed at both the slipping and discomfort of finger picks. Soooo....I am going to try this today and I will get back to you. Best suggestion I have seen yet.
