(Layout) HO scale Os.kar FS 640 steam locomotive

A new addition to the loco roster for my future Italian / French HO scale model railway. I can ususally resist the specialist manufacturers limited edition models, but for this beauty I couldn't. I really love the classic Italian steam locomotives ! They have so much style and character in the design that some others lack.

This one will be the pride of the loco shed ! and what a model. Os.Kar have produced a fantastic model. Can't wait to get a DCC sound decoder installed. Bravo Os.Kar !

Os.Kar is a really serious company.

She produces working models.

Not like Acme.

Acme makes beautiful models but they aren't reliable...like the new Gr 685...totally incorrect.

The Gr 640 and the Gr 625 are called "Signorine" ,"Young ladies" because they shake her ass when they are cornering.

I was hoping to acquire one to go with the 640, both beautiful locos, hoping to be both

excellent working models even if some work required.

Do you remember Acme Gr 685?

If you wait a little bit... Os.Kar,at Norimberga,presented her version of Gr 685...she is in another planet. Wonderful...really Wonderful!

model, beautiful. I will definetly wait and get the Os.Kar model.

I hope they continue producing these wonderful models, although

my wallet gets thiner every year !

And,at last but not at least,the Oskar model is 99% metal,Acme il 99% plastic and they cost 20 euros more than the oskar.

If you want another good steam locomotive,you could choose the Gr 625.

The Hornby Rivarossi Gr 740-741-743 are sometimes good models...sometimes not...but they aren't realiable like the Oskar,but much more than Acme.

I have one Gr 743,and I have some problems in code 75 track that I'm trying to solve.

I can send you some photos of the photographic livery. A really bad and ugly steam locomotive...in Italy the Gr 685 are called "Regine","Queens"...but the Acme model is all but not a Queen.

For example,the cylinders is too much far from each other,they looks like the compund Gr 680,you can see the connection wire of the frontal led,the first driving axle is 0,5mm upper than the others...and much more...
