I agree with barnishbar, actually.

To sum it up... Sigur Rós is their own style of music. While there are some elements that may reflect Radiohead or Pink Floyd, (as they say in the media) any resemblance is purely coincidental. Sigur Rós has their own voice, with their own ideas and they are their own unique art form. Perhaps they share the "haunting" musical aspect with PF or Radiohead, yet they are neither one. May Sigur Rós continue making their beautiful music for many years to come.

It's kind of ignorant to think that just because Sigur Rós are your favourite band, they haven't been inspired by others. It's not like it's a bad thing, and quite frankly unavoidable (unless they had not heard any other music than their own). Whether they got inspiration from Radiohead, or if it's the other way around I can't say. It's also kinda irrelevant.

Good music is good music, and in this particular song I can hear A LOT of Radiohead and Pink Floyd. Doesn't make it any less brilliant.

Why so hostile to the Pink Floyd meets Radiohead dude? People naturally compare music to things they are familiar with. The point is they liked it and were open to something new, why be a stuck up prick and discourage that?
