Prairie Dog Blues was the final stop on the Debbie Davies
Robin Rogers 2010 tour. Sad news announced in August
about Robin's health was made public. This dedication to Robin, her spirit & to Debbie, for all the support behind the scenes this past year.
Please watch & support both Robin Rogers and Debbie Davies.
It should be noted that this song is a tribute to another heroine who died too young: Viola Luizzo, a "Motor City mother" whose UU faith led her to go to Selma to join the "Freedom summer" fight for civil rights. She was shot and instantly killed by members of the Klan. Predictably, her assassins were acquitted of murder; but her death helped lead to the passage of the Voting Rights Act.

Terrible that I had to discover this talent after she was gone.
My bad.
But I sure plan to listen to what she did do while she was here on this earth.
At times she has a Bonnie Raitt feel which to me is a great compliment considering she's got her own spirit floating in her songs.
What a loss.
I have no doubt they like blues in Heaven and Robin is singin' and blowin' harp with the best of 'em.
RIP Robin Rogers.
Hope to meet you when I get there.
Peace...
