Announcing the Reporter Channel

Breaking News -- YouTube is launching a new type of account: the Reporter channel.

Citizens around the world have been using YouTube to report on the events and issues affecting their lives -- shedding light on stories that might otherwise not be told and offering new perspectives on events covered by the traditional media. We want to honor these journalists with their very own channel type.

Reporter channels are just like the other YouTube channel types -- (comedian, guru, musician, etc.) -- but are specifically intended for citizens and professionals dedicated to informing others about the news and events in their local communities and around the world.

If you already have another type of channel on YouTube, you can easily switch it to Reporter on your account settings page.

So we'll let you decide whether you're a Reporter or not - we only ask that you keep us posted on your best news content by emailing me at CitizenNews@youtube.com.

Oh another place warp would work is with Google earth to bring up video at different locations randomly.

Olivia here is something to work on let's have a link to warp one for each major channel (were is that feature anyway) have it bring up videos totally randomly one can switch back to the home page to view promoted videos. This would be the best of both worlds nobody can say youtube wants to control views. Hunting for videos randomly is so much fun and the warp feature make that so much better. One of thing that make your site so popular is that you never know what you may run into

Thanks guys, not only do millions of hit get absorbed by stale old video clips, now youtube spoon feeds videos from the home page. Now your normal poor slob that uploads his clip has a snow balls in hell to get a decent amount of hits, your just a bunch of anal retentive control freaks. yes you all at youtube

Lololol youtube changed the look of the message envelope, shaded it to give it a 3D look, wooppy do da, Are you guys out of your minds? Why not give us a dedicated 16.9 aspect ratio video player for the HiDef video clips? Why not? you got the time, so?
