I BOUGHT AN HID KIT AND THE FIRST ONES I WAS SENT DIDNT WORK WHEN I HOOK EM UP SO I THOUGHT MAYBE THEY WERE BLOWN AND I WAS SO PISSED SO I ORDERED SOME NEW ONE!! I had to do the same thing to my first HID kit 6 years ago.. Other know issues are bad ballast/bulbs and fuse which you can upgrade to a 15 amp, using a relay kit also helps.

maybe u meant direct contact or to close to direct heat sours such as: battery, manifold, radiator, etc. remember one of the headlights is right in front of the battery so is kind of inevitable to get close to it. key is to be conscious.
