Good response. I'm sorry for your very recent loss. I'm sure that must have been very difficult for your and your family.

Having been raised a Catholic, do you still consider yourself a Catholic? How does your family, presumably still religious, reconcile what they've experienced about suffering with the teachings of the Church? In what standing does this leave them as parishioners, as it is presumably a greivous offense to disagree with the Church (as in the case of Pat Kennedy)?

I no longer really consider myself to be part of the Catholic church, my beliefs have strayed to far and I would feel hypocritical. This is not something I have really discussed with them, I don't know if they have heard about these developments yet. Not much time for mass with a sick man to care for.

Dogma is more important to them than people. Catholic Church treats its followers with no trust at all/ You should see these videos it is a 3 part series on the Vatican policies by Penn and Teller.

I grew up Catholic also and as I got older I realized the hypocritical and arrogant additude of the church in these matters. I left because of the shameful way of their policies protect their own, deny the masses the rights of life. One only has to look at the Terri Schavio controversy, as an example of the ignorance and arrogance of others that "know better" . Another five star video PT great work !
