@guanocaro And yet she's dancing with a professional ballet and you are not

@kdub10009 Amen! It's so annoying when high and mighty nobody's have to try and make themselves seem important by bashing someone else...one of these days these idiots will have to tell us what it's like to be perfect, must be tough to have never done a thing wrong lol
-
this honestly isn't a very good example of a rond de jambe... balanchine or not, you do NOT roll your foot in when you're coming through first. she did that every single time she was doing a rond de jambe en dehors...
-
@guanocaro She does not have a large belly at all! And who cares if her legs are short?
-
@balletomain Good thoughts! You are right, hyper-extended dancers to not have to bend the knees to close to 5th, but they will not be able to keep the same hyper-extended line as they close to 5th. Hyper-extended dancers can have "straight" knees, but they will not be all the way extended (for their body). Compensation must be made. Standing in 5th position does not necessarily mean that you can close to that same position without losing some of the extension/line of the leg/knees.

@kdub10009 I agree with everything except the rising star part. We in NYC, think if anyone is a rising star in Ballet they are dancing in New York City -- the foremost ballet city in the USA.
-
Just a note: hyper-extended dancers do NOT have to bend their knees to close. That is a false assumption. By lifting up even a dancer with lots of hyperextension can close with two perfectly straight knees. If you can stand in fifth with straight knees you can close to fifth with straight knees.

Beautifully done! Lovely.

@f1r2a3n4c5i6 è il 2° movimento della sonata "patetica" di Beethoven
This is a professional dancer, a rising star with Pennsylvania Ballet who was trained at SAB, in the Balanchine technique. She is executing rond de jambes in exactly the proper way per his style; just because some of you were not trained in Balanchine technique does not mean that she is doing anything incorrectly.
