I made this from butcher paper and scratch paper from our physics lab. The nose cone has a small piece of polystyrene foam and a bit of wood putty. The body is bonded with Elmer's wood glue and the fins are attached with epoxy. The motor mount is a 5" piece of 1" schedule 40 pvc...there is another 2" piece near the top to attach the nose cone.

Total mass is 370 grams.
Total length 112 cm
Center of mass 78.1 cm (from the top)
Canter of pressure 100.2 cm (from the top)

The wind and the over sized control surfaces caused the rocket to pitch into the wind.

This is the initial test with an E9 Estes motor. The paper fins were a bit too wide and some deformation caused a bit of resultant torque along the axis of the rocket.

We recovered the rocket about 300 meters from the launch pad.

I have moved the center of pressure up and we are launching with a G motor next...
