老子說 / Laozi Speaks

Laozi advocated mild-manner, modesty, peace, and realism; in the time where uncertainties abandan, the humbleness and down-to-earth nature of Laozi was just reminiscent of what Frodo the hobbit in "The Lord of the Rings". Learning Chinese masterpiece can never be this inspiring.

@chapsroc Lol dude, take it down a notch, it's not that big of a deal either way. Yeah, the Dao De Jing doesn't say it exactly like that, but there's something along those lines about "multiplying your activities", at least in the translation that I read every week. Yes, I'm too lazy to look it up, and sorry, but I'm too old for the whole "internet fighting" thing. Lol, especially on a video about Daoism of all things.

the Dao that can be told is not the real Dao

柔有好，剛有好，老子崇柔，安身立命已。老子猶龍，也是世外龍，­逍遙龍。獨世外，獨逍遙。說得當然沒錯，誰不想？不過是獨我的。­可惜不求剛，剛自來，老子說也就是無為。因為剛柔本來是自然，主­張柔當然可安身立命，不過如果成事了，不是反而有違無為嗎？老子­想的是人，而無想到世界的條件。因此只偏於柔，如果成事了，人就­不是群。老子不是說魚有魚群，獸有獸群嗎？難道他認為人不是群，­而是可以獨我？不是反過來有違自然嗎？有違無為嗎？用剛柔並，學­陰陽易，中庸無為，不偏不坦，才是正道。否則所有人都成了老子一­樣的隱居者，除非是認為人可以獨我。

I agree with you 100%. If any one doubt what Eivuwan was saying, please look up the Chinese word of 无为， and remember the countless references to "water" or "be like water" in Tao Te Ching.

Water does not stay still, it flows from high ground to lower ground, even to places where Man would not go.

Cordon off the swamp of desires, close all passages, live a life without laborious vanity.

Open wide the swamp of desires, accumulate achievements, life will expire yet you will remain helpless (against endless desires and vanities that you have not yet “achieved”)

@thejesman lol, you don't remember where but you're sure "it's in there", you can't provide the chapter, and your're lazy to look it up. hehehe! Specialiszation? "he who multiplies his activities"? Yeah, those are in a different "bible", The first is called "industrial revolution" asembly line worker mentality; The later is in a different book called "Hebrew Bible" or commonly known as the Christian "Holy Bible." Neither one is in Tao Te Ching.
