This is a load of scrap silver that came in our store. Silverware sets, broken jewelry, cups, candle holders, all getting melted down and cashed in.

@BayshoreBullionX I believe what he means is regardless of how much YOU buy it for, in Germany people will pay more for a 100 year old spoon than a small block of silver.. It does seem sad you're melting antiques down, even if there are pounds of it around. How would you know if you're melting a $1,000 antique for $100 of silver?

I can empty the knife handles in 30 to 45 seconds each. No problem.

halo- I am from Germany and the people Pay here TOP Euro for silver objekts like knifes and spoons etc. , NOT for the Silver itself, but for the history , for the saving the antik stuff- and I see you melting them down , it is kind of pain for me. and also a sign o f an ignorrance ( no affend)

@nadjabulgaria ..ignorant would be thinking you could afford the amount of silver i buy. The reason it gets melted down is because I buy thousands of ounces a week. If i paid more than the price of silver i would be out of business. Thats not ignorant, thats just stupid.

@TheDistMaster -I'm not sure how much this weighed out to after i melted it. I usually don't melt unless i have a couple hundred ounces.
