  • Like you, I agree with necessary evils and a moral hierarchy. In fact, I think the Bible argues for a moral hierarchy as well.

    Jesus says in Matthew 22:36 to 34 that there is a greatest and second greatest commandment (which would establish a hierarchy). When two or more values conflict, the greatest one should trump the other.

    Similarly, we have the Old Testament story of Rahab. She tells a lie to save people and is seemingly blessed for it. Again pointing towards a hierarchy.

    hmm, this is true, and i can also think of more instances where a hierarchy seems to be establish. but this immediately raises many more questions, however i would like to think before asking. thanks for the comment, i appreciate it.

    Cool, take your time.

    My mind was kinda blown when I first thought about a moral hierarchy. It was actually inspired by a combo of matthew 22 and an economics class of all things.
