Yes there are federal laws that require orange tips for the sale of and importing of airsoft guns. I have had some cops pull into the parking lot where I play(part of a paintball park) and very few people don't have orange tips and we don't have any problems. The cops have never said anything to us about having or not having orange tips, all they do is, sometimes, get out and talk, like a normal conversation, or just turn around and leave.

uhh dude, the orange tips are a federal law (in the USA) removing them or painting over is illegal some places.

Are you guys required to have orange tips? The guns I'm going to use in combat are painted as soon as I get them. Love the blind firing in the beginning.
