I clearly remember him from a "GlassWax" commercial. Or, was it Windex?

Mmm.... Saturated fat...

Paul Dooley is unforgettable in "Slap Shot" as the rival hockey announcer during the fight scene after one of the Hanson bros. gets hit by a keychain: "The fans are standing up to them! The security guards are standing up to them! The PEANUT VENDORS are standing up to them! And if I could get down there, I'D be standing up to them!"

PAUL DOOLEY ROCKKKKKSSSSS!!!

@wdymck "Oleo"? That's what the original Heloise called it. (The product is actually called "oleomargarine".)

I remember these commercials were referenced in "Ramona and Her Father", which gave her the idea to make a crown out of burrs...which get stuck in her hair. However, they had to change that bit in the film as that advert is no longer around and children wouldn't get the reference...

that paul dooley was a cutie:)

my mom never used the name margarine... she said it was oleo.
I say oleo today and nobody knows what that is.

"REFUND!?!" Dooley was pure gold as the dad in the movie "Breaking Away". This commercial here has some interesting writing, Paul is pitch perfect reading the lines.
As a little boy, I recall taking a bite of Imperial-spread bread and waiting for the crown to appear on my head. An early instance of one of life's minor disappointments.

I remember my mom once making a comment about this commercial way back when. She said "If he's so smart he should be packing the stuff. I'd tell him to go jump in that lake!" Moms - you gotta love 'em!
