Errrrrr, no.  The way light works is that the light would have to BE HERE to see it. In other words, the GRB from that distance would have happened 100 years AGO.

i could be wrong, but don't these only happen once every 100 000 to 1million years, per galaxy?
and none have happened in the milky way - so far, anyways..

gamma rays travel a speed a little slower than the speed of light, but not significantly slower. gamma rays, light ray, and radio waves become weaker proportional to distance. We are probably getting hit by gamma ray's every day from ancient GRB'S, but they are too weak to cause any havoc. The video is wrong. It implies that over 30,000 GRB'S a year. There is a site that I go on That log's GRB'S and there is about 200+or - a year

a light year is more then 400 /the distance betwen earth and sun ,as it appers in this video ,it is more then 50000 times more ,look in wikipendia

Theyre neglecting to mention a third catastrophe. some of those Nitrogen oxides would mix with water vapor and cause nitric acid rain. That would kill alot of the surface life aswell.
