@BFMVandNIRVANA It took me 2 years to learn to sweep which is probably the longest it's taken anyone. I was a terribly slow learner but one day it just clicked. The same thing should happen for you, don't give up.

Hey man, first off, you're amazing at guitar. But I really want to start learning how to sweep, but I don't know how to come at it. What did you do when you first practiced sweeping? And what are some good exercises to practice sweeping with? Thanks a lot.

@Zazzizle43 Thanks a lot man! I didn't really follow any exercises, I just started off VERY slow until I was familiar with what I needed to do and then gradually sped it up. I am a very slow learner, so it took me about 2 years to learn sweeping but I know people who have learned it in a few days, others a few week. Just start slow and learn to build the coordination between your two hands :)

I've got a question concerning the sweeping... I'm learning it, but my biggest problem is that when I release the note, there's always a little pull off and so it sounds a kind of inaccurate. How do you damp your strings? It sounds and looks just so accurate in this video... I hope you understand what I mean, sorry if my English isn't the best, I'm from Germany! ;-)

This song is only a bitch because of the sweeping. For example the solo is pretty easy as solos go, its just the sweeping that ruins it lol. Ive been playing for only 2-3 years but im close to sorting the sweeping.

hey, @jackMcGuitar

Could you or someone else who knows how to play the Intro, exactly describe how to pick or hammer on/Pull Of which note?

Im Playing the 13-17 as a hammer on and then restarts the sweep at the bottom 13-15-14 until i start again with 14-15-13 Hammer on etc.

But the Hammer on sounds a bit wrong.

Should i pull off the 17-13 after the 13-17 hammer on?

Im not used to sweep riffs btw so thats the reason why im asking how this pattern should be played
