The wait is over. The Referendum date is out and it is the 4th of August. The Interim Independent Electoral Commission announced the big date at a breakfast meeting in Nairobi. The commission has already unveiled the referendum question and is due to announce the symbols in the next two weeks. The draft will have to garner 50 per cent of the total vote in addition to 25 per cent of all votes cast in five provinces for it to pass.

  • 3 months of non stop campaigning. campaign period started months ago, I feel sorry for kenyans.

fuck the symbols, they will just divide the country further.

  • @malkiaj1 How would you translate that to an illiterate old man - in his language? That is the challenge

  • why can't a "check" mark and an "X" mark be the symbols used? Other symbols will clearly be twisted by politicians as the gentleman has said.
