@virginiaorganbuilder OK now it makes sense. You mean A.R. right? I forgot he was from the NW. Quite a character that one. Brilliant. Actually that shop has so much talent that I am constantly jealous. Stevie through Robbie and on Facebook. I consult with them at times and lately looked into having them build some pipework for me. anyway, me = drownedviola@hotmail.com if you want to hear say more.

@pmzephyr22 Well you're in the right shop! Go to the Taylor and Boody site, under About Us and then under Employees and the fellow in question is number twelve! Can't wait to find out how you could possibly know Stevie!

@virginiaorganbuilder OK you have me intrigued. The only builders in Virginia I know are George, John, Robbie and Stevie. Could it be? Great to hear of your colleague who knew RHS. The original organ was a gift from students in memory of the first Principal, V. K. Froula. IIn later years a principal would play as students were arriving each AM. I hope you direct him to these videos. He might recall the "Fight Song" played by a more recent alum. You can write me email for "other details".

@pmzephyr22 And I just discovered (since my first comment) that one of my colleagues here in Virginia graduated from Roosevelt High in 2000, and credits that organ with his interest (and now career) in organ building. He was surprised when I asked him, "Have you ever heard of Roosevelt High School?" Now he's trying to figure out who pmzephyr22 is!

@virginiaorganbuilder LOL! That would have been interesting. No, it's her father. I think he had graduated from this H.S. if I am not mistaken. Thanks, I will never see this the same way again. Haha

One might well play the Westminster Chimes on the tubular bells to show them off, but a little research would show that the first phrase should be D F# E A and not F# D E A. In dedicating this piece to Henry Willis, the organbuilder of the Westminster CATHEDRAL instrument, Vierne honours his friend and London.

@1401JSC The chime introduction was in response to a request by a donor to use them in some way in the concert. The Vierne does not call for this of course and as you point out the sequence of the rings is often mistaken. Thanks for watching.
