Imaginary Motions

A glimpse offers the mind an opportunity to construct a story. Imaginary Motions, a video providing that opportunity, is assembled from basic building blocks—silences and black screens, percussive noises and snippets of motion, and repetitive passages and minimal zooms. The visual imagery is of the mundane, functional, even silly movements and objects of a typical apartment; the music is derived from their sounds. Through development and juxtaposition, and above all through timing, Imaginary Motions imagines an arc of activity that turns the everyday into the odd.
