Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema took a page of this Evil Hulk in the Incredible Hulk #295-#296. The circumstances are totally different of course. But the start of the fight was similar (in tis case Bruce Banner was losing mental control of the Savage Hulk and was afraid for his life as the Max Hammer Hulk wailed on him relentlessly...but once Banner succumbed to his Savage Side....the tables quickly turned and it was all Hulk).
