At least in Chobits, the servitude angle served some satirical social commentary purpose. Realistic women vs. accommodating computers.

So a strong female lead willingly chooses to give up her life as a fighter and chooses to become a maid in service to a boy and calls him master?

@TheJboy88 Well, it was a war for one thing, not a chosen career. She never wanted to fight, unless she had to. For another thing it was actively killing her to use those combat abilities. She chose a life as a maid as penance for causing human deaths, and this boy specifically because **SPOILERS** (She was responsible for killing his father, who she loved.) She's still a strong female lead by her strength of character, not her ability to tear things into pieces.

...Ok, I've gotta ask, why did you have a maid outfit just floating around the house? XD I mean, Yoko's outfit is a bikini top and shorts, which most people have on in some fashion hand, so that makes sense. A racy maid outfit is slightly rarer to come by. XDDDD
