i bought one of these and the smell of thwe hot plastic surface was so sickening i took it back to the store. the cheap non stick ones give of plastic fumes. It like that smell you get from cheap plastic fan heaters. IF you gonna buy a crepe maker buy one with a cast iron plate

@formaset ok, je suis de la Belgique, pour moi c'est tout le même chose, c'est just la pâte qui est cuit sur une plaque de metal, si la plaque a des bords ou pas ce n'as pas d'importance.

That is not a pancake maker. it is a CREPE maker. The edges around still gives you the regular pan feeling. There is a brand called TIBOS that is a real crepe maker. without the high edges in which gets in the way spreading the batter...
