I agree! Townes Van Zandt's original is the best.

As most originals are.

But - if it was'nt for these facts...

That I have enjoyed the Lemonheads for twenty years.

That I've followed & enjoyed Evan Dando's work ever since the band demiced...

I would never have known, that Townes Van Zandt even existed.

What are you fuckers on about? This is the tits! Not as gracefully picked as the original but I love the pace of it and Dando's voice is silky! Like someone else said he has a knack for doing good covers that suit his style.

Varshon's got some great tunes on it. I especially love his take on Wire's Fragile and Leonard Cohen's Hey That's No Way to Say Goodbye.

@NickeyWhitfield of course it is but i just havent mastered that style yet so I just did it more ramonesy . I believe there is some merit ( when one is covering a song ) to give it your own reading . THE IDEA IS TO BRING THE TUNE TO A NEW AUDIENCE . IF 20 PEOPLE GET TURNED ON TO TOWNES' ORIGINAL , THIS THING HAS SERVED IT'S PURPOSE ( AND AT LEAST IT'S BETTER THAN THE ONE ON VARSHONS )

Personally I didnt like the album version I have listened to Lemonheads since shame about ray. Personally I dont think there is a better voice in rock.
