@starsoffyre it is a transition - and the camera lens and eyepiece - telescope ... do not forget to photograph Jupiter's minimum distance is only 100 million km.

Well I haven't heard of that term before in astrophotography. The setup I used was simply an auto point-and-shoot held up to the 20mm eyepiece of a 5-inch aperture, 1000mm focal length scope.

Lunar eclipses occur about twice a year. The next lunar eclipse will occur on June 26 this year.
