  • well...what´s the deal with this vid? I´m german...and 180 is just "slow" to me....I´m driving a BMW E87...on 180 I´m just shiffting to the 6th gear... :-)

But I understand the problem, or better the fascination....other people have in germany....(cos germany is the only country in EU without any limitation of speed), that 180 is pretty fast to them....but for "us" german....180 is just "normal" :-)

  • @jksolutions1

Correct, I really wish i had a faster vehicle for the trip than a 1.6L TDI but it was fun to experience driving on that road. I didnt put the video up to impress anyone, rather to document that I was there.

  • germans know how to drive, i know one thing 180km/h in germany is not a speed 180kmh only for midle line if you dont go faster than 200kmh dont even try to stay in third line to long.

  • i think the first car was a phaeton?

  • fag

  • @jmdetrick You know, most rental car locations just dont give out "fast" cars to non-german people cause they dont want them to crash the car or end up beeing dead which isnt too hard on a german highway. Driving fast is indeed an experience BUT it is very challenging and exhausting at the same time. Im just turned 17 and i started my drivers license 2 weeks ago =) I drove my first time on the autobahn and i have to admit, driving yourselve isnt the same as just beeing the passenger =D

  • Noisy? Myself and a German girlfriend drove regularly 10 years ago to Hamburg from Brussels in an Alfa Romeo 33 (1.3 litre) that could do 200kph. Once into Germany, we never drove at less than 160, often 190. The car was nicely sound-insulated. An inexpensive car, but I don't recall it being noisy.

During general driving too, the lack of noise together with a light accelerator made it too easily possible to exceed speed limits. One had simply no impression of going fast.

  • @Nudelwanne does = those

  • lol, funny how all the germans are bragging about going >200km/h all the time. "Damn does Tourists only going 180km/h ... this is so slow. I always keep up an average speed of at least 250km/h. Im a fucking pro !!! Im German !!" Youtube - boasters everywhere

  • Yes its fun, if you are allowed to drive as fast as you like. BUT it is still very dangerous and its not as relaxed on the Autobahn than on the swiss Nationalstrassen. Also it is a little scaring to pass curves with more than 250 km/h. I usually go more than 250 only for some minutes, than go back to relaxed 200/210 for the rest of the free areas. In fact more than 50% of the Autobahnen are not free anymore.....

  • Fährt der im Standgas? Da ist meine Frau in ihre A Klasse auf dem weg von Einkaufen ja schneller unterwegs.

  • @rookie0306 hehe normal fahr ich immer 240 ( Topspeed of my car ) auf der autobahn. oder 299 kmh with my motorbike. HEHE

  • @deibits2k well...but we can really drive, too? :-)

We have f.e. the Nordschleife as you might know and other race-tracks you can drive on (and a lot of germans do)
