  • A pleasant surprise to hear it in Gaelic - at least I assume it is the same prayer?! Beautiful, nonetheless. God's power to guide me, God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to teach me, God's eye to watch over me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to give me speech, God's hand to guide me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to shelter me, God's host to secure me... In any language, a great prayer for all of us. Peace and blessings.
  • Actually, that's not the prayer in Gaelic. It's the song "Pill A Rún Ó" performed by Moya Brennan in Irish Gaelic.

I don't speak Gaelic (save a few phrases) so I don't know exactly what the words mean. But it sounds very spiritual so I thought it would fit this prayer well:)

  • Awesome video,beautiful.passing along.5 stars.

  • Thanks Arden:)

  • Orthodox Kontakion in the Fourth Tone: The Master revealed thee as a skillful fisher of men; and casting forth nets of Gospel preaching, thou drewest up the heathen to piety. Those who were the children of idolatrous darkness thou didst render sons of day through holy Baptism. O Patrick, intercede for us who honour thy memory.

  • It seems to me that the main difference in the way St. Patrick is seen in Orthodoxy vs Roman Catholicism is that Patrick is called the Apostle To Ireland in the OC, and in the RCC all too often more recent 'traditions' of American origin with certain sociopolitical overtones have been put out there for the purposes of profitmaking and tourism. FACT: St. Patrick is not just for Irish Catholics only. He is for ALL of us who believe in God and take the words of the Lorica to heart.

  • thank you for such an awesome video...

  • Guys the answer is simple. Stevenbfg is right about the origins of Roman Catholisism. Prior to 1054 there was little distention between the various Sees of the Church (on of which was Rome. Roman Catholisism became distinct from Orthodoxy after the anathemas of 1054. However, at the time that St. Patrick was alive he was part of the One Church. Therefore he is considered a Saint by both Orthodoxy and Roman Catholisism, and they are both right to claim him! This is the case in nearly every

  • @truth7seeker at that time pope celestine was pope and he sent st. patrick to do missionary work in ireland at this time there was the western catholic church (now known as roman catholic church) and the eastern catholic church (now known as orthodox church) and tell me my retarded american friend does the orthodox church accept the popes rule lol oh and I know you got all this imformation from wiklepedia ya tit so look up east-west schism which took place in 1054 lol fucking americans

  • @Stevenbfg Wait a minute! If St. Patrick lived between ( 389 -461) how can he be a Roman Catholic? Roman Catholic started in 1054. Do you see the light ? Go back to your history notebook and find out what manufactured history have you learned. And then go in the mirror and say out loud : "You are stupid" the echo will come right to your face. LOL! He!he!he!

  • @truth7seeker why are americans so retarded St. Patricks parents Calphurnius and Conchessa belonged to a high ranking Roman family and at that time the island of britain (including wales where patrick came from) was strongly roman catholic lol you sound like that retarded cunt paisley who said he was the first protestant but had no proof to back this up and eventually later said he was a catholic but he liked him anyway and dont tell me your one of those stupid americans who think they are irish

  • @Stevenbfg Can you be specific ? Is he Catholic (as an universal) or Roman Catholic? There is a big differance. I view St. Patrick as part of Holy Catholic (Universal) and Apostolic Church today called The Orthodox Church.
