HOW TO SEND A FEDEX PACKAGE AT A FEDEX DROP BOX.
Each drop box has supplies like envelopes and airbills for you to use. They take packages too besides envelopes. Each AIRBILL has a TRACKING NUMBER for you to use to keep track of pkg while enroute. Either call or track on www.FedEx.com

Each location has a daily CUTOFF time, (some are earlier or later) you need to have your package in before that time to have NEXT DAY delivery. The driver will indicate on the box whether he has picked up already. There will be a little flag or a tag telling you whether he has been there. Sometimes drivers will make several sweeps of a dropbox. So as long as you have your package in before cutoff, the driver will pickup and FedEx will deliver by the commitment time.

There are several different EXPRESS services to choose from -considered overnight:

1)FIRST Overnight by 8:00AM-Next BUSINESS Day
2)PRIORITY Overnight by 10:30 - NBD
3)STANDARD Overnight by 15:00 - NBD
***these times are to MOST but not ALL zipcodes-especially if you live in a remote area. Some areas may have later times.
4) TWO DAY -2-Day - by 2 Business Days
5)EXPRESS SAVER-3-Day - by 3 Business Days
**and that is Business Days
**DONT count WEEKENDS as part of the days. If you send something out Friday (by Priority Overnight etc) it will be delivered Monday,******** unless you specify Saturday Delivery.

SATURDAY DELIVERY (is available to MOST NOT ALL ZIP CODES- always check first) **USA there is an extra $12.50 fee for Saturday Delivery.
**if you send Friday dont ASSUME it will be deliverd Saturday, you have to MARK Saturday Delivery on Airbill
- but CALL AND CHECK if that zip code has Saturday Delivery Service available. Saturday Delivery has only
PRIORITY OVERNIGHT and 2-DAY to choose from.
(There is also GROUND Services which is explained a bit at the bottom)

AND ONLY SHIPPER/sender CAN UPGRADE OR MAKE CHANGES ON PKGS, NOT THE RECIPIENT.

FEDEX CONTRACT IS ONLY WITH THE SHIPPER/Sender)

ADDITIONAL FEES APPLY FOR REROUTES, ADDRESS CORRECTIONS, ETC. SO THE SHIPPER/sender HAS TO AGREE TO PAY BEFORE ANY CHANGES CAN BE DONE in most cases. The Recipient cant call and have a pkg changed to different address, unless they have TRACKING NUMBER and Fedex has already attempted to deliver the package unsuccessfully to the original address and it has in INCORRECT Address scan or a UTL Unable to Locate Recipient scan.
(VERIZON PHONES - DONT EVEN ASK FOR AN ADDRESS CORRECTION. VERIZON DOES NOT ALLOW IT - CALL VERIZON)

For Canada and USA there are different types of airbills,
USA Domestic Airbills
Intra-Canada Airbills AND
International
(GROUND has their own barcodes they use)

It is the SHIPPERS RESPONSIBILITY to have the correct address, postal/zip codes, (business name, Apt number, account number etc,) on the airbill, if fedex has to make any corrections there is a fee for the additional handling. For example:USA charges $10.00 for address corrections - charged to shipper's account or credit card.

**You DONT need an account to ship by EXPRESS. If you dont have acct then you just have to pay before the shipping.
**You DO need one if you want to ship COD, or third party billing, etc.

All fedex pkgs come with minimum $100 declared value,if you want anything above that you pay a fee.
Certain things have a Maximum Declared Value - like jewellery has $500 MDV. So do things like collectors items, antiques, stamps, art, checks, money orders etc.
If you want extra insurance find an outside insurance agency.
TRANSGLOBAL is a good one.(read the fineprint on the back of the airbill)

And Fedex has no Money Back guarantee in the event of weather delays, acts of god, earthquakes, strikes, riots, civil disobedience, etc
Any questions go to www.fedex.com or call

Fedex Ground and Fedex Home Delivery operate out of completely different stations and terminals than EXPRESS.
They have their own vehicles, own terminals, own drivers, etc.
( GROUND trucks have Green/Purple writing)
(EXPRESS trucks have Orange/Purple writing)

You CANNOT have a Home Delivery or Ground package Held at an Express station for pickup. (Or a KINKOS)
HOME DELIVERY delivers between
--0900AM-08:00 PM Tuesday thru Saturday-residences.
GROUND- which goes mostly to busineses, 0900-0600 PM Monday to Friday.
(If someone tells you they are sending you a pkg by FedEx they could have chosen one of the ground services which dont go by AIR and have 1-5 Business Days to deliver, based on distance)

  • can i ship something in a box, that isn't an 'official' fedex box?

i need to send back some books, and don't want to buy a box.

  • oh yes, if you send it Ground, you can use your own packaging. If u dont have an account then you need to go into a fedex station.

They will print off a sticker with a barcode and tracking number on it, and you put that on your box so they can scan it during transit.

  • i order some shoes on thursday & i put fedex express saver, how long is gonna take??pls answer back

  • @elias30187

express saver is guaranteed to deliver in 3 business days (or less) depending on ur zipcode.

so this does not include saturday and sunday.

if u got ur package in on thursday before the cutoff (the latest allowable time)

then u should get ur package (Friday, Monday, Tuesday)

for express saver its usually by the end of the day, no set time. go to fedex.com and find out more info.

punch your zipcode and zipcode where its coming from.

(Im sure you got the answer, but for all the new people using a courier service)

    1. Yes they delivery world wide

    2. They will try your home, if your not home they will leave a note that gives you three options...

    a) ATL = Leave safe at your house

    b) Try again, (this means you will be home the following arranged day when you call them)

    c) You pick it up from their depot

    3. That depends on if the driver knows what it is, and its up to the driver to pick the location.

  • Monday-Sat, but delivery days are mon-fri
