@gemclumsyninja Every child wants to swing on the bars, etc I myself was raised in a gym, and I know that when you start competing, and then all of a sudden you are 15 and you realize all you know is gymnastics and may want to quit to have some "normal teen life", I saw a show with Nastia and her Father, and he was 100 % invested.....I doubt very much he would let her quit at least until she won the Olympics....she was not so invested, looked tired, & was showing signs of overtraining.

@jarileigh for the most part you r right- however, Nastia's parents didn't actualyly initially want her to start gymnastics at all. she was just in the gym they owned, and her parents couldn't really hold her back.

@lizlovesgym1 Because she is under a ungodly amount of pressure, every day of her life every second of her life, her Dad expected her to win the Olympics since she was BORN, so she didn't even have a choice whether she wanted to even BE a gymnast, she grew up in the gym and never knew anything but gymnastics, so how could she possible know if that's even what she wanted? And she lived with that pressure, to be the best gymnast in the world, one of the most difficult sports, all of her life.
