It is the fifth most used diet drug used by these doctors.

Adipex (phentermine) 97%
Tenuate (diethylpropion) 64%
Bontril (phendimetrazine) 60%
Topamax (topiramate) 50%
Meridia (sibutramine) 49%

I have a hard time believing that any informed doctor would use Topamax as a weight loss drug.Although effective in many cases, the detrimental side effects such as aphasia ,memory loss and extreme confusion outweigh the benefits from taking the seizure and migraine "prevention" medication.
