In his annual state of the nation address to parliament, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono devoted a large section of his speech to security. It comes following last month's suicide bombings on the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Jakarta.
During his speech, Yudhoyono urged Indonesians to unite against terrorism.
[Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian President]:
"Throughout Indonesian society, let us all unite to fight terrorism. Protect our people and youth from defiant and extreme thoughts that can lead them to terroristic acts."
He also pointed out the attacks have failed to dent Indonesia's economy, saying the stock market and rupiah have continued to rally.
The rupiah is the best performing currency in Asia, up nearly 11 percent against the dollar so far this year. And the stock market has rallied nearly 77 percent.
Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country in the world and the majority of Muslims follow a moderate form of Islam. But an increasingly vocal and radical group has developed in recent years.
Yudhoyono appealed to Indonesians to step forward if they have information on militants.
[Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Indonesian President]:
"Help the security forces by giving information on terrorists that are hiding within our society."
Recent raids on the Jemaah Islamiah (JI) network uncovered up to half-a-ton of explosives that police said militants were plotting to use to assassinate Yudhoyono.

How shameful that he didn't take a few moments to address all the cigarette billboards that promote the smoking of manufactured cigarettes and how Indonesia is sacrificing its youth to a future of cigarette smoking.
He also could have briefly mentioned all the rivers running through Jakarta are so polluted that they are nothing more than toxic waste. The Indonesian President is a prostitute to mult-national corporations.
He also could have addressed the REAL REASONS for the terror.
