I DON'T REALLY SOUND LIKE THAT

I connected a Wii Nunchuck controller to an Arduino, which takes the data from the controller's I2C data bus, decodes it, and send the data to the robot with a radio transmitter.

Charlie uses a radio receiver to get the data, and it will control the drive servo system and the pan tilt servo system using the data.

The Nunchuck has a 3 axis accelerometer, a joystick, and 2 buttons, it is absolutely awesome to use with a RC robot like this.

  • can You just use a audio transmitter?

  • @droman951

you can if you modulate the digital data signal into an audio signal one the transmitter end, and then demodulate the audio signal back into a digital signal on the receiver end. This ends up making your project more complicated, and the data-rate will be slower

  • you think its possible to connect the nunchuk directly wia serial port to a PC and decode it there?

  • @raiman99

not possible, nunchuk talks via I2C/TWI bus only

  • whats the radio range? is it possible to adapt this system to a rc plane ?

  • terrible range, but the radio was something like $6

do not try these radios on anything that demands reliability

  • really nice!!

  • This is nice, I think it will be my new hobby in the future after I have sold my other toys.

    Great stuff!

  • can you post your code

  • "if i hold down the c button" thts priceless!! 1:17

right. But the RS232 has a DCD pin which is the scl in, a DTR which is SDA out, a RTS which is SCL out and a CTS which is SDA in. When i connect the SDA from the nunchuck with the CTS and the DTR and the SCL with the RTS and DCD it should work. Have done the same with a PCF 8591 which is also working with I2C.
