Around the Horn Baseball Competition in Cooperstown, NY

An around the horn competiton in cooperstown for our Lake Forest Scouts baseball team. We would have got to the final round if the stupid umpire hadn't called our center fielder "out", meaning he didnt step on the base by him while he had the ball, which added 5 seconds to our original score. It was close, but if you pause it at the right time his toe is still on the bag as he catches it. The score you hear in the video is the score with the time added on, so if you subtract 5 seconds from that time you get our original score, which would have put us in the finals.

Ya, maybe your right........but it still was pretty dissapointing to us. Also, in the final round, a different umpire made a horrible call. The person who is supposed to throw the ball home stratled the base when he caught it, and when he crow-hoopped to throw it home he never touched the base, but the ump didnt call him on it. Everyone in the stands was right in front of the play, and we all were talking to each other about it. That team won the contest

you cant tell for sure from the video... and even so, it looks like his foot is to the side of the base. And since the umpire is standing right there, looking right at it, wouldnt you think he would get it right? So dont blame it on the umpire, just calling it like he saw it. Close doesnt count. Either the center fielder did or didnt get the bag. And it appears he didnt. So get on him for not hitting the bag, not the umpire.
