Touch displays on the Sony's are still a bit slow. I take extensive notes and one cannot type fast without making mistakes. Also. note taking, as well as navigation, slows down considerably for large books (e.g. Bible). Overall, I have enjoyed the 950. Unfortunately, the Sony models are VERY pricey compared to competitors.
If someone wants a touch e-ink display, I recommend they wait until the Nook Touch comes out. It looks promising and has the right price tag.

Actually, I own two 950's now. They continue to have glare in some indoor situations, but it's not very common and easy to compensate for. (Any direct lighting above you will cause this). I have enjoyed my 950, which has the same screen as the 650.

Hello,
I am visually impaired and I am thinking about getting this e-reader soon. I have question: In case of PDF files, does the 'zoom' function work the same way as the e-book?
Please Help.
And Thanks in Advance

When I look at your review, I find the page flickering annoying. Is that annoying to you in real life? Particularly when you try to flick through pages fast.

How well can you write notes? Can you organize them? I am looking for an e-book reader that can double as a digital notebook. I use a college-rule notebook at work for capturing my thoughts, and it would be nice to do this in electronic form with a stylus allowing me to write instead of type.

When is Sony going to update their *50 series of readers to allow BN ebooks to be read?

theres no repeat for the mp3, i like to listen to music when reading on the bus, need to place long mp3 files onto the reader, dont like swapping back and forth between music and book, whenever the song stops.

I own the PRS-600. Glare is a problem. Your video shows at least three sources of light behind you. Advertising implies that glare was rendered nonexistent in this model. We can see that this isn't true.
Also, the touch response continued to be slow. Your "doodling" and failed page turns show the delay. When I use the keyboard on the 600, I am forced to look away and pray I don't mistype because the lag is horrid.
Am I missing something, or is Sony just reselling the 600 with a new home page?
Can you rotate the screen?

@pemesstiamdatignore
Yes you can rotate the screen's orientation. You simply press the options button in the bottom right hand corner at anytime and select orientation and you can switch between a vertical and horizontal screen orientation.

The higher contrast and sharpness of the new PRS650 Reader really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated. I can guarantee you that you can bring the new Reader into any bright environment and have no issues whatsoever using it. Drop by your local SonyStyle store or Reader retailer and take a look for yourself.
