pretty much. Thought about using torflex stub axles, but that would have been too expensive.

Is this christie suspension, instead of original's torsion bar? :)

I did at first but they started taking chunks out of my wheels so i had to cut and crimp them.

of the $7000 you spent on this project, does that only cover the materials + engine? (no overheads or tooling)

The total of the tank as of now stands at 12,300 that's engine pump motors + materials. about 1500 of that really doesn't count because my first pump and controls didn't pan out so it's sitting on a shelf. Tools and overhead were separate, but you can always use tools on other projects or more tanks.

How much did you spend just on the tanks body? (no engine or hydraulic motors - just the rolling chassis)
12k is very expensive, I could buy a FV 432 for about £6000 (no offence intended)

If it were me I would go with the FV 432 hell if I knew where to get one at that price, I would still try and get it. Just guessing on just the steel I would say around 3000. The wheels were 21 per wheel and the springs were 19 per spring. there's 28 wheels and 14 springs. Not to mention this isn't a perfected machine I'm constantly repairing and revamping. So if your going for a well oiled and tested machine I would definitely go with the FV.

But if you like to tinker and build this is a great project.
