  • Yes, Temple, many have seemed to turn to that for their answer. I believe in freedom for everyone to make a choice as to what they want to be. Have a nice trip. For those that do not believe in something, I understand they achieve as much pleasure as they can in pleasing their bodies in some way. Drinking, drugs, cars, money, power, or some other way to please their body.

But this is not about them.

Mr. Wallis, what.... instead of Christ... do you choose?

Who, but he, could ever answer?

  • superemomax.. the answer is.. analsex

  • And therefore I pose the question that ONLY one person in the world can answer. All other comments would only be speculation.

Why, Mr Wallis, would you search for "truth" somewhere "instead" of Christ?

Hosea 8:12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

James 4:12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

  • Thanks alex. I don't judge him as a believer or non believier, I'm accepting his claim that he IS a believer. As a believer certian "truths" should logically follow from this which "he claims" as "his own" belief.

As all things, other people are created by God (his belief) and we do not have the right to premeditatedly harm others.

He is searching for wisdom from a person that believes that it is ok to harm others as long as the greater good (whatever that is this week) is served.

  • @superemomax You may not have judged based on him being a Christian, but you clearly judge based on believers vs non-believers, and that's what I'm commenting on.

You're also operating from a false premise: that faith and truths are the same. If they were the same, there would be no need for faith- you would know- there would be facts. The very idea that it's faith means there isn't logical support. So, to assume others that don't believe simply haven't found "the path" doesn't make sense.

  • No everyone must ask themselves, do I want to live in a world where my doctor is making a decision about our care based upon anything other than our individual good? We would not want him thinking "it would serve the greater good if..." You could fill in the rest of that sentence with any number of things. But you want your doctor thinking about treating you, not the "greater good as Michael sees it".

Therefore a "Christian" entertaining these such ideas is to be questioned.

    I question it.

  • If God creates us, then we as individuals will have rights that cannot be taken away. Let's look to the medical oath to "do no harm". Why would we have a political philosophy that would not stand up to that standard? Why do ethics "change" when it comes to government? It doesn't. Michael's utilitarianism would allow harm to many if the "greater good" in "his mind" is acheived. So, are there fundamental individual rights, or is your very existance dependent upon someones idea of a "greater good"?

  • @AlexMoensChannel I understand your concerns about my comment. I do not at all suggest that we "cut ourselves off", as that all science is created and given by God for our understanding. I don't judge as to whether he is a Christian, I simply ask. A Christian knows two major truths, that God exist, and we ALL are made by Him. Therefore our code of conduct towards others is a cerian path as determined by our faith. Someone still searching for that path has, by definition, not yet found it.

  • @superemomax how much development do you think Christians would undergo if they cut themselves off from the rest of the world as you imply? And, what about conflicting sects within Christianity; surely some of those entire groups should be ignored as well then? Also consider the "no true Scotsman" logical fallacy you provided regarding what a "real" Christian is.

  • @pulikon umm he worked in george bush's administration and look where it got us!
