This video shows the pushback simulation performed using the Newton Dynamics physics engine.

www.simudrive.co.nz

The pushback simulation relies for 100% on the physics simulation and proves to be extremely realistic as it is tested by experienced pushback drivers. Also I had the pleasure to drive a pushback truck with pushback bar (No aircraft unfortunately)

The latest version of this software also has Pushback pin shearing build in. This allows the simulation of nose wheel limit exceeding which causes the safety pin to break with subsequent loss of directional control. Again all extremely realistic.

The Airside Simudrive simulator is designed to provide high quality training for airside drivers in a range of equipment using full physics simulation on a wrap around visual system.

  • This is really exceptional piece of technology. Gr8 work guys..

Has this been installed at airports already??

Do you guys have a website, i would love to know more about these.

  • @dusk245 It has been used last year to train a new team of Air New Zealand pushback drivers very successfully. Unfortunately the company that contracted me to write this software has been unable to make any sales and discontinued the project.

  • hmm this gets me thinking! what about "driver's license renewal simulator"? or how about "product returns simulator" or "waiting in line for something simulator" or "sleeping simulator" have you noticed how many market niches people think they thought up of for simulators? first it got boring with bus driver simulator. then tow truck simulator. and now this?

  • @TheNeonTide It looks like the comments section of YouTube doubles as a moron simulator. Or are you a real moron?

  • The SOP for pushback is not followed out here...The Tow bar needs to be connected to the aircraft NLG first...and then to the Pushback tractor.

  • @fotnmember You are spot on. The later version has this corrected. In the training the focus was on the actual pushback and throttle control but you are quite right about this error.

  • Lolz! He attaches the tow bar to the tug first. NOOB!

  • real game?

  • @F1FerrarifanNr1 was gegen flugzeuge oder wat? schreib der noch in mein kanal der hobbylose

  • I was a push back driver and aircraft tow driver for frontier airlines for about 2 years, look at my vids. Pushing or towing an aircraft can be very critical and tricky, yea u turn the wheel which ever way you want your tail to go but u gotta no how much. This should b incorporated with training.

  • WRONG -- supposed to hook up to the aircraft first, THEN the tractor

  • Could u plz give me a reference? And a phone number, I am the CEO of QANTAS airlines. I am very interested in starting a project similar to new zealands. Please get back to me asap!!!!

  • @dinther It is difficult to understand why airports or airlines, would not want this.

Such trainings seem critical for high cost equipments.

This subject has rekindled my thirst for more information. Is it possible for you to share some reference material or other videos about push backs..

    my email id is duskndreamz@yahoo.com
