I WROTE THIS SONG TO LET SOME PEOPLE KNOW THAT ,THEY DON'T NEED TO HAVE DREADLOCKS TO BE A RASTA, IT COMES FROM THE HEART..LIKE ALL THE OTHER ISSUES IN THIS LIFE.

Leonard Percival Howell, the first Rasta and the original 'Gong" was clean-shaved and clean-cut. A beard and hair does not make the man/woman; his/her actions do. No point in having long hair if you don't follow the teachings of Haile Selassier; which is what makes you a Rasta. be original. Be yourself. One Love.

My favorite reggae singer is the man Horace Andy, one of the all-time greats. He didn't start growing dreads until his mid forties.

My hair was getting quite long but I had it cut recently (first haircut in ten years) because my wife wanted it short. I consider myself a hippie but I've lived with people who don't like long hair.

Now I feel funny if I go to a reggae or metal show.. like I don't belong there. Of course I realize that ones character is the important thing, but if a stranger sees me on the street they will never know that I'm a reggae fanatic or hippie (peacenik.)
