There was a time when the East African Safari Rally drivers would only wear green bush hats. I saw so many Safari Rallies. I would especially enjoy the day before the Rally when all the entrants/vehicles were parked together for technical compliance. Saw the Singh brothers (who won in a Volvo PV544 in 1965) and many of the regulars. The Safari Rally was a test for the drivers and vehicles.

I don't think ANY driver from ANY other racing series can compare with these guys, they had balls and this was raw and real!
