(Sacramento) -- As the mortgage meltdown in America continues to cause stress and strain for thousands of families, Assembly Democrats in the California State Legislature are working to reform the mortgage industry, hoping the proposed regulations will mitigate the financial pain. Led by Assembly Speaker Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) and Assemblymember Ted Lieu (D-Torrance), Assembly Democrats have crafted a package of legislation designed to change the way home loans are prepared and implemented. Here's more on the Assembly Democrat's mortgage crisis relief and reform package in this Assembly Web Report.
Absolute nonsense! This crisis was brought on by Hedge fund manipulation. Wall Street pulled out their trillion from their faudulent pooling of MBS. They were worthless and criminal speculation in every aspect. This collapsed the economies of the world...

If people want the housing crisis to end, then let the markets correct themselves. Government rescue is too little, too late. Tighten regulations and standards. It is disingenous to suggest that only banks, mortgage lenders and realtors are responsible. Without the willing signature of mortgage contracts by financially inept Americans we would not have this crisis.
