  • The main point I was making, wasn't that Petrucci sucks as a guitar player, but more along the lines of; I don't see how he's doing anything new and interesting, (when compared to the likes of Paul Gilbert, Satriani, Vai, etc. for example).

DT is technically out of this world, I just can't get into their music because nothing they're doing is seems like it really sticks out to me.

    Just what I think.

  • @XxSconeManxX LOL petrucci often use basic blues scales , musically, not that difficult

  • @DoumdaDoum

And also, just because someone uses basic blues scales doesn't mean they aren't any good. Using basic musical implements doesn't disqualify your technically ability or musical know-how. Don't assume that if something isn't musically or technically difficult 100% of the time that it automatically sucks. That's fucking retarded.

  • @FA9082 Michael Keene is great. don't get me wrong . He ain't fit to lick Ron's boots though.

  • 2. A whole note plus a sixty-fourth note in a bar

    3. running the scales

    4. 3:10 B-E-E spelt out in the bass. Later becomes bB-E-E and C-E-E

    7. 6:12 Two contrasting themes, one using only B and one using everything not B.

    What about 5 and 6?

  • @XxSconeManxX Did you modify this track in some way? I'm just confused because from 3:10 - 3:53 or so it plays a section completely different from the version of the album that I have. I mean I'm pretty sure there's only one version. So there's something wrong here...

  • Everyone that plays guitar should have a copy of this album.

  • @XxSconeManxX you guys are right, when you listen to petrucci its almost asif he selects a new playlist of licks eg going thought styles, OH a jazz lick here now a blues now some mindless exersize yep hit repeat

  • Ron is a great guitarist and his music is fairly complex and requires that the listener really tunes in and focuses on the listeningexperience.

  • @DoumdaDoum Musically, it actually sounds good.

  • @hemantalimbu Ron is the greatest guitarist

  • @FA9082 Matt Sotelo? Tosin Abasi?
