Once again, in line with the mission of Global Peace Youth Corps - Philippines (GPYC) in raising true young leaders with good character and to realize the "One Family Under God" vision, GPYC - EARIST Chapter conducted 2 -- Day Summer Youth Camp with a Leadership Training at Langcauan Hall, BSP Camp, Mt. Makiling, Los BaƱos, Laguna last March 26 to 27 of this year, 2011.
It was recorded that there were 78 participants all-in-all in the duration of the seminar. The majority attendees were the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) students from Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) handled by Dr. Baltazar E. Sayson of Department of Business Administration.

GPYC have taken the initiative to design a prototype program and curriculum that can be utilized around the world where universal values and characteristics are taught in a format that can be adapted to different countries' cultural heritages.

The entire 2 days workshop was composed of lecture sessions about character education which is an area of growing interest in our society today. With the prevalence of war and immorality in our midst, concerned parents, community leaders, and educators are beginning to realize that conventional education is incomplete when it comes to nurturing the character and personality of young people and students. There were also culminating activities to build the deeper understanding towards each other, team building and ice breaker, trekking where they experienced different obstacles in the jungle to challenge their physical limitations and recreational activities such as swimming.

Dr. Edmon E. Pacson, the National President of GPYC-Phils managed the lecture sessions in nurturing students by a designed character-based education that will help them in brightening this rotten society.

"The topic was very truthful. The lesson shared with us also helped me to become more like human." inspired said by a student from BSOA 1-9 in his written reflection right after the seminar. great day indeed. I can't imagine that our batch of BSOA students would participate in this heart-warming leadership training. We learned so much in this once in a lifetime experience." He also added.

Global Peace Youth Corps - Philippines (GPYC), a worldwide student's educational organization, which seeks to promote among the different aspect of human life, culture, science, and academic through conducting various research activities and projects. It also aims to contribute to the empowerment of moral values and to promote the spirit of service for others, creating opportunities where youth can subsequently interact, develop friendship, and help foster brotherhood.
