The Brumby Labour Government in Victoria,the Rudd Labour Government, CFA, Department of Sustainablility and Environment in Victoria are to blame for 173 deaths on Black Saturday.

They are using Black Saturday as a catalyst to push the man made climate change theory to gain more power over the Australian people by using fear!

The climate change activists have become so frustrated at the publics resistance, that someone has started a fire. Obviously it got way beyond the attention seeking they intended. A distrust of environmental agencies is healthy.

Within these government departments are not only the saviours but the perpetrators.

jakstaaa .....In Australia, the federal government we have in office at the moment want force apon people massive tax increases and ontop of that forced utility bill increases which is basically an 'air tax'.

About 3-4 months ago, an urban-conservationist said to me...if it helps the planet, then it is ok to tell lies to people.

If we acted on climate change and it proved fallacious, what harm would be done other than having accelerated our transition to renewable energy sources? And don't tell me the economy will be ruined. Fear tactics are by no means monopolised by either religion or environmentalism. Too often we are told that any attempt to invest in renewables will destroy the economy, usher in recession and deal massive job loss. It would appear that apocalyptic visions are used by both sides.

jakstaaa .... the link between environmentalism and religion is that both focus on something a person can't see and both ideologies use fear as catalyst for control. The similarities are striking. Threat of destruction, belief in something invisible and unprovable, constant persuasion. If you can't see the link then you are probably fooled by many things.

You are anti-capitalism which is typical of those who use climate change nonsense to de-industrialise the world.

What is this tenuous link you are attempting to draw between environmentalism and religion? I really can't understand the connection.

A link I find more appropriate is one between capitalism and climate change denial. Many of the scientists you speak of are funded by fossil fuel industries. Capitalism by nature cannot account for the finite repositories of Earth's resources, and environmental issues necessarily come into conflict with profit making.

@ChrisPCrunchy - We do need carbon, the problem is not carbon itself but the immense quantities concentrated in the atmosphere. The fossil fuels that accumulated underground over millions of years are being burnt in only hundreds of years.Crops may grow better in some areas in the short term but overall rainfall will decline and droughts will increase.
