oxes "riki creem calls this one RIP IT" @ africantape fest

chris was trying to get people to rip their shirts in half for the entire set. in the middle of the song, he hands out candy to audience members while beckoning to them to "RIP IT. RIP YOUR SHIRT."
priceless.
the song ends with a nice zen outtro while marc crowd surfs.
a little back-story on why chris wanted everyone to rip their shirts:
big'n played before oxes, and bill was wearing one of oxes' tour shirts, which was presumably a gift. within the first song, bill ripped the shirt to to pieces in a fit of what can only be described as "drunk chicago noise rock rage." hence, for most of the oxes set, chris was handing out candy and telling everyone that the show made him feel 16 again, and that he was trying to live out his young fantasies by having everyone walk around with ripped shirts. i fondly remember him saying in a dictator-like speech, "i give you candy, you rip your shirt. it's that simple." and there was another brilliant line about how the next day everyone would identify with each other's ripped shirts, "where are you gonna be tomorrow with your ripped shirt? at the big'n show last night!"
brilliant.
no one really understood him, because they all spoke french.
