6th of July 2005, London is given the honour to host the 2012 Olympic Games. Everyone celebrated and was in a generally good mood, people around the world congratulated London. No one could have even imagined what would happen the following day...

7th of July 2005.. London is bombed. The first time since World War, mainland Britain is attacked. The mood of winning the honour of hosting the games changes very quickly, to one of somber and anger.

But we showed them terrorists good, with our stiff upper lip British ways and got on with life the very next day!

@Ulmeyda08 It's almost as bad as saying, America handled WW2 much better than England, we were back to normal the next day! That's just idiotic because America only had a small attack on the military base, Pearl Harbor. Whereas Britain was attacked tremendously by the Germans, and had much of their country destroyed along with thousands of lives lost. I dunno, I love and support both countries, United we stand as friends and allies!! ;)

i was in London the day the Bombs went off, one of the worst days of my life, miss the Liverpool Street one, as i was running late for work, so so sad, I'm South African, and although i am not proud that i was apart of the London Bombings, i can say im proud that i got to witness a country pull its self together after the Bombs
