"DT is the same shit over and over." Clean your ears, dude, Dream Theater changes stylistically from one album to the next. If you can't hear that then you must at least hear the massive difference between something like Black Clouds & Silver Linings and Awake.

Mastodon has pretty much sludge metal combined with 60's and 70's progressive rock in their sound so I don't understand how do you find power metal from their sound, and Dream Theater isn't the same shit over and over, just compare their Train Of Thought album with their Octavarium album and you'll see what I mean (with that being said, Mastodon is way better IMO). But I have to agree, the stories in the Mastodon albums are very cool and their latest album is one of the best albums I own.
