This is a short extract from a concert by the Fish Memory which took place in Paradiso, Amsterdam.
The title 'Ukiyo-The Floating World' refers not only to the genre of beautiful woodcuts which emanated from Japan in the 19th century, but also to the demi-monde which existed on the periphery of ancient Edo, a place of tea houses, puppet shows, geishas, dancers, musical performances, brothels and the origins of kabuki theatre.
This piece of music features string section and water organ.
