Paul Dubrule is one of the co-founders of Accor, an European and worldwide leader in hotels and tourism, as well as corporate services.

Widely known for his success in the hospitality industry, Dubrule has travelled the world to spread his knowledge. He's also been to Tibet many times in recent years saying the Tibet he's seen with his own eyes impresses him so much for its landscape as well as for its economic development.

In addition to his reputation in the hospitality industry, Dubrule is also a former member of the French parliament. Six years ago, at the age of 68, he travelled by bicycle to Tibet setting out from Paris. The 8-month, over 15,000-kilometer journey was an eye-opener for him and completely changed his views on Tibet.

Co-founders of Accor Paul Dubrule said, "6 years ago, I had the opportunity to travel to Tibet on bike. I stayed in Tibet for 3 months. And I think I should be seen as one of the people in France who knows Tibet fairly well."

Dubrule was impressed by Tibet's landscape, but even more by its economic achievements. His travelogue was published after the trip.

Co-founders of Accor Paul Dubrule said, "I wrote a book after that trip and I talked about Tibet in it. I very much support what the Chinese government has done to boost the economic and social progress in Tibet. What the Dalai Lama advocates actually means a retreat to the past for Tibet. The Chinese government has built highways, airports and set up schools and hospitals in Tibet. These are all signs of economic development."

Dubrule says the lack of knowledge about Tibet and its history has led to the Western media's biased coverage of the riots in Lhasa. He says the Chinese government should conduct more exchanges with the rest of the world and enable more people to see China's progress.

Dubrule singles out the Qinghai-Tibet railway as a strong proof of Tibet's economic development. He says the railway is injecting new impetus to Tibet's economic advancement. And he also notes that the Dalai Lama's opposition to the building of the railway shows his indifference to the well-being of Tibetan people.

  • but i will make sure that all ur needs are met........if rebuilding ur home , providing food and comfort means taking away ur family culture and freedom...then i think i should apologize for paying for ur electricity, gas, water and ur children education....i'm the real evil becoz of me invading ur home u get all the benefits with some compromise(u cant question me, let me misbehave with ur wife, seek my permission before thinking for urself, being punished for goin against me)

  • well well...how about me invading ur home, providing financial support , rebuilding ur home , providing education to ur children but of mine choice...u r not allowed to think for urself.it will be all me making decision for u and ur children .i will decide how to follow or practice ur religion. and if u do not follow my direction then i will lock u in ur basement for 2 to 3 years without any trial with little bit of physical torture. sometimes if i like i will misbehave with ur wife and daughter

  • if bringing modernization means destroying its traditional cultures, then I think the chinese government should apologize for bringing electricity, clean water, gas, medical care to bet because they destroy tibets traditions such as candel lights, dirty water, horse buggies and voodoo medicine. you evil chinese you. because of you bringing cars to tibet, now the tibetan traditional horse buggies are extinguished. you evil yellow peril.

  • Stop illegal outsorcing!!! Dignity for hotels workers.

  • Too many lies and biased claims out there about Tibet and Tibet current situations there, it is hard for people who knows nothing about Tibet to figure out what is truth and what is lies. For people who really want to know what's going on in Tibet or in China, they need to go there in person.

  • Truth cannot lie, a lie cannot be true!
