Created on November 6, 2010 using FlipShare. Stewart J. Cort arrives in Superior to load iron ore pellots.

From LSMMA website: The Stewart J. Cort was the first 1,000-foot boat on the Great Lakes. She was built with the pilothouse, galley, and crew accommodations forward, the only 1,000-footer on the Great Lakes built that way. The structure to the rear (aft) of the Cort houses a unique cargo unloading system. She was named in honor of an officer of Bethlehem Steel.

Thanks to the Cort for the bonus bridge signal!

  • @daved53185 Hopefully the economy keeps her sailing for a long time.

  • The webcams at the locks have been messed up for quite some time.

What is with that? When they were working, they were way way too slow.

  • @bryson55 I don't know but Firefox doesn't even want me to go there - security window. Something's messed up.

  • Great vid. It is too bad the Cort only goes thru Superior where there are no webcams.

    Duluth has four.

  • @mrbill552 STUIE J - I like it. The first of the thousand footers on the Great Lakes. And named for an officer of the former Bethlehem Steel.
