By the time he was caught in 1997, John Drewe had pulled off the biggest art fraud in U.K. history. Drewe met a struggling art teacher with a flare for reproductions and conned him into painting hundreds of fakes. Later, Drewe posed as a wealthy patron of the arts to gain access to museum archives and plant false records that supported the authenticity of his faux masterpieces.

These scams are said to perpetrated by 'master forgers' which is nonsense.

All forgers bear a grudge.

The truth is the dealers are opportunists and the buyers are gullible and greedy.

They want to believe, and once scammed cannot reveal their stupidity/complicity.

@VERGIS92 Yeah that's how you get to be an expert: from learning from those who can you teach you to know even more.

It's a pretty basic part of learning.

Unless you think that there are and never have been an expert in any subject in the universe.

By the way: 'expert' doesn't mean - never has - 'can't learn anything any more'... no expert believes they can no longer learn anything.
