I wish people knew the truth about Big Mac. Yes he used androstendione. However, not only was it legally available to purchase any local pharmacy, but it was also legal to use in the MLB. More, when asked if he took steroids, he confessed and told the truth! It is very unfortunate that people have a distorted view of him. He did nothing against the rules AND he admitted to it. What did he do wrong?

Mark McGwire crushed the Home Run record for a rookie during what was essentially a dead ball era. No rookie had ever hit even 40 HRs during any of the previous power eras and McGwire crushed 49!
He and Canseco were the first players to begin their careers with 30+ Home Runs in each of their first three years. These guys came in jacked!

The Thing is people complain about him taking roids. At the time he was and Sosa it was not illegal. I mean people were allowed to juice up and did not receive a punishment simply because it wasn't banned.
